Covid And FOMO

I miss the times when opening social media used to reinforce my fear of missing out on fun and interesting life experiences.

However, as the world grapples with the impact of the global pandemic, a profound shift has occurred. People are now essentially confined to their homes, travel plans indefinitely postponed, and social gatherings limited to virtual spaces. It’s a situation no one anticipated.

I feel a bit weird about admitting it, but amidst these challenging times, I don’t experience that familiar sensation of FOMO anymore. The fear of missing out, once a constant companion in the age of social media, seems to have taken a back seat. It’s as if the everything has hit pause, and the never-ending stream of social media updates has been temporarily muted.

Living in a Himalayan state, this lockdown has actually been a blessing. It’s so calm and serene out here. I don’t know how long it’s going to last, though.
